My Friend Charlie is a dating company with a difference. Instead of letting you swipe your life away, they put on some of the best off-line dating events in London and their exciting, out of the ordinary experiences range from graffiti art to axe throwing.
It was created so that anyone can join an event and meet a great group of people who just happen to also be single. They have created a relaxed and novel way to try something new and maybe meet someone special along the way.
They approached Kingdom & Sparrow to rebrand their business so that it would reflect the wants and needs of the active, fun-seeking city singles looking for friendly events.
I worked with Kingdom and Sparrow to create this design concept. Initiating those first precious exchanges between single Londoners, taking the pressure out of dating and designed for those who want to connect with a person, not a profile.
Good conversation is a great sign of potential matches hitting it off and so the logo mark combines relaxed, hand drawn style type and a traditional 'name badge' device, denoting personal and friendly introductions.
The strong but neutral colour palette provides an urban tone to the look and feel of the brand, which is relaxed and informal in its approach. Soft focus imagery within the website showing interaction between people and places gives a sense of some of the events on offer, combined with block colours and plenty of white space for easy navigation.
